spring is in the air.

happy valentine’s day.

walked out of the house at 5:30 this morning on my way to boot camp bundled up — 1000 milligrams of vitamin c in my tummy — to be pleasantly surprised by a warm breeze, even with melting snow under a tree here or there. for anyone in washington, dc, you can feel it!! SPRING IS IN THE AIR. my only question is: are you looking and feeling your best?

many people wait until the weather breaks to start their workout routines and i understand…. it takes dedication to work out in winter… and boy have we had a tumultuous winter….. but it’s time…. you’ve waited long enough. after your big love-foody-fest and chocolate attacks, let’s get this thing rolling. tomorrow will be feb 15 and 6-weeks before april 1. don’t fool yourself… it’s coming fast.

this is what i’m gonna do for valentine’s day…. i’m gonna enjoy a GREAT dessert tonite after i finish training clients at 8pm. no guilt. sweet, sugary reward dessert. 0h, i forgot the meal that will precede it… and you know it’ll be late because i won’t even leave the gym/work until 8…. look, i never said i was done with desserts or pizza or anything that i enjoy; i have simply learned that these foods are not for every day… that rare weekend… a special occasion.. and it’s usually spent with friends or someone special… see? It’s called LIFE.

theeeeen i get back on the wheel in the am.

EXCUSES OR RESULTS. NOT BOTH.

the photo above is from a recent shoot by a talented photographer based out of new york: omar carter. i like the palpable and apparent love between this man and woman. no audience. no distraction. no music. no stage. just them in nature. together. it’s nice to find that. but until you do, love yourself.

enjoy the day.

” i have simply learned that these foods are not for every day… that rare weekend… a special occasion.. and it’s usually spent with friends or someone special… see? It’s called LIFE”—-Very well spoken. And a small reward once a week or so keeps us from going into a tailspin, and overeating, binging. I think the last thing we want to do is tell ourselves we CAN’T ever have that special treat, because it just makes us crave it more, and sets us up for failure. Awesome to come across your blog, and look forward to your post. It’s nice to have some uplifting, positive encouragement. Thanks….
